The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene received a delegation from St. Louis SHS management and athletic team who have impressively won trophies for three consecutive years at the Super Zonals.

At a meeting held at regional coordinating council, the Minister congratulated the team on their outstanding achievements and encouraged them to keep training and striving for even greater heights.

“With consistency and determination, they have the potential to represent Ghana in national games, and even on global stages like the Olympics.”

To motivate and support the team, the Minister made a cash donation to help with their training and welfare.

“I believe that investing in young talents is key to building a stronger future for sports in Ghana.”

Dr. Frank Amoakohene also urged the school management to make special provisions for extra classes to help student-athletes catch up academically, as they dedicate precious time to training and competitions.

He also expressed serious concern over the rising tension and violent clashes between schools after Interco and Super Zonals.

He assured them that:

The police are actively investigating recent clashes, and schools found culpable will face strict sanctions, including possible bans from future competitions and financial penalties for damages caused to other schools.

Some arrests have already been made, and anyoneā€”whether current students or old students disguising themselves in school uniformsā€”who is found engaging in these acts will face the full force of the law.

“Sports should be a platform for healthy competition, teamwork, and national pride, not violence. Letā€™s keep the spirit of sportsmanship alive and protect the integrity of school competitions.”
