Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene Writes
Last Sunday, during the Akwasidae celebration, I had the honor of briefing His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on key interventions made by H.E. the President and various sector ministers towards the development of the Ashanti Region.
I highlighted the significant progress made through the intervention of the Minister of Defense Dr Omane Boamah in the completion of the Afari Military Hospital, as well as the support of the Minister for the Interior Muntaka Mubarak in maintaining peace and security, especially in the fight against illegal mining. Additionally, I mentioned the visit of the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah whose efforts have been instrumental in combating illegal mining and ensuring the successful takeover of the Offin Shelterbelt Forest Reserve.
I also updated the King on the visit of the Minister for Local Government Hon Ahmed Ibrahim and his commitment to completing Kejetia Phase 2 and other projects in the region. Furthermore, I shared insights on the visits of the Ministers for Roads @Hon Kwame Agbodza and Minister of Health @Hon Kwabena Minter Akandoh, who have been addressing critical road infrastructure and healthcare concerns in the region.
On behalf of H.E. the President, I reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of the Ashanti Region and extended his assurances to Otumfuo. I also informed His Majesty about the President’s visit to the region for a Thanksgiving Service with the clergy.
The engagement with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was insightful, and I remain committed to advocating for the progress of the Ashanti Region.
