The Rotary Club Kumasi and Obuasi has organized a three-day health screening exercise dubbed Family Health Day for the residents of Nhyiaeso and the general public at the Sokoban Primary school park.

Speaking to GhanaGuadian on the exercise, Mr. Mark Asante, the project director of Rotary Club of Kumasi said the project is targeting about 2000 people and the screening involves blood pressure test, HIV test,De-worming, Tuberculosis screening,pollo and measles vaccination,vitamin A supplementation and General Counseling.

He said all those who went through the screening exercise and had any medical problems were referred to the nearest hospital for further check-ups.

He added that the exercise proved to be a significant one for the residents of Nhyiaeso and its surrounding communities.

“Our club is deeply committed to serving our community and organizing this free health screening aligns perfectly with our mission”,he said.

He also advised the residents to go for regular check-ups and exercise to maintain a healthy body.

Male condoms were distributed to all those who went through the screening exercise whilst all participants were given de-wormers before leaving the centre.

Mr Asante said the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Ghana Health Service were supporting the health screening.

The residents also expressed felt gratitude to Rotary Club Kumasi for the free health screening.
