A Staunch member of the Ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti Region has defected to the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) with over two hundred Supporters.
Hon. Kwabena Osei Bonsu, popularly known by his constituents as “Osei Bonsu”, a native of Tepa- Mabang and Akwasiase both in the Ahafo Ano North explained to the Media his reason for joining the Akatamanso Family.
According to him, he contested for the Parliamentary Seat in Ahafo Ano North as an Independent Candidate in the 2020 General Election.
Even though he lost that election the number of votes he accumulated was a sign of positive results.
He was not engaged by his Own Party, NPP but the NDC as a party engaged that has yielded to his defection.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the Party in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency, *Hon. Akwasi Adusei* who welcomed him, on behalf of NDC Party expressed his joy and also welcome Hon. Osei Bonsu and his team to the party.
