Promoting Inclusivity and Sustainability in Ghana!
I am glad about the launch of two crucial initiatives by the Parliament of Ghana; the Disability Caucus and the Climate Caucus.
The Disability Caucus, chaired by Hon. Dr. Clement Apaak, MP for Builsa South, aims to advocate for the rights and needs of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) through legislative means, ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of national life. This aligns with our directive principles of state policy, which mandate us to create a just, inclusive, and sustainable society for all.
The Climate Caucus, chaired by Hon. Emmanuel Marfo, MP for Oforikrom, will drive policies towards making Ghana a climate-friendly nation, contributing significantly to global climate resilience. Guided by the theme “Strengthening Legislative Action for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development in Ghana,” this caucus will play a vital role in addressing the climate crisis.
As Speaker of Parliament, I reaffirm my long standing commitment to the wellbeing of PWDs and our collective responsibility to protect the environment. Together, let’s work towards a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient Ghana for future generations.
