Last Saturday was the inauguration of Atlantic Hotel in Banjul which was done in a low key.
I attended the ceremony together with the Minister in charge of Tourism and Culture Honorable Abdul Jobe with other dignitaries.
I held another very important meetings with His Excellency Ersin Tatar – The President of Northern Cyprus and later with H.E. Mr. Mossa E.B. ELKONY Vice President of the President Council of Libya .
Both meetings were more of getting solutions on how to empower the youths so as to stop the illegal migration which has affected both countries a lot especially Libya.
The discussions centered around the efforts that REFELA is doing to curb the problem of illegal immigration.
Both delegations therefore agreed to collaborate and strengthen the efforts of REFELA through the empowerment of women and youths of Banjul in particular and the Gambia in general.
Both excellencies agreed that the partnership with REFELA compliments the theme of the summit: “Enhancing unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development”.
I am thankful to the two delegations and I am looking forward to a win-win collaboration.
