On March 3, the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) held strategic discussions with the National Communications Authority (NCA) aimed at deepening disability inclusion within Ghana’s communications industry.

The talks focused on improving accessibility at NCA offices and within its programmes, highlighting the need for stronger institutional frameworks to support persons with disabilities.

GFD Executive Director, Peter Anomah Kordieh K., emphasized that many institutions still lack the technical capacity to work effectively with persons with disabilities and called for sustained advocacy and systemic reforms.

Both organisations reviewed their collaboration during the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which they described as highly impactful due to significant high-level engagement.

GFD also unveiled plans to launch a digital television platform dedicated to showcasing the skills and talents of persons with disabilities.
In addition, the organisation reiterated its commitment to ensuring inclusive participation in the government’s One Million Coders initiative.
Looking ahead, the NCA, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026, intends to use the milestone to promote disability inclusion through targeted consumer engagement initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to ongoing dialogue and strengthened cooperation to ensure accessibility and equal participation across Ghana’s communications sector.
