A late-night fire has left several commercial shops in ruins at Anloga Market (Anwonadwom) in Afful Nkwanta, Kumasi, sending shockwaves through the local business community.

“I was informed late last night of the fire outbreak at Anloga Market, which affected several commercial shops.

The situation has since been brought under control after intense firefighting efforts by the Ghana National Fire Service, and thankfully, no casualties have been recorded,” said Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah, Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency via his official Facebook page.

Describing the incident as “deeply unfortunate,” the MP expressed profound sympathy for traders and business owners who have lost property and sources of livelihood.

“My heart goes out to all those who have lost their properties and businesses as a result of this tragedy. I sincerely empathize with you during this difficult time,” he added.

Hon. Obiri Yeboah commended the Ghana National Fire Service for their prompt intervention, which prevented a greater disaster, and assured the affected community of his continued support and advocacy.

The MP also urged residents, traders, and market authorities to exercise extra caution and implement preventive measures to avoid future fires.

“Together, through vigilance and cooperation, we can protect lives and livelihoods,” he said.

The late-night blaze has left the once-bustling Anloga Market in a state of devastation, as the community begins the painful process of recovering from the destruction and loss. While no lives were lost, the emotional and economic toll of the fire is deeply felt across the constituency.
