The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has held separate engagements with the Ministry’s Advisory Board and Female Senior Editors as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and advance the Ministry’s mandate.

The meeting with the Advisory Board focused on reviewing the Ministry’s achievements, assessing progress on key interventions, and discussing strategic priorities toward 2026.

The Minister underscored the value of honest feedback and collective responsibility, noting that the Board’s guidance remains critical to informed decision-making and effective policy implementation.

In a separate engagement with Female Senior Editors — the second such meeting this year — Dr. Lartey provided updates on the Ministry’s work in gender equality, child protection, and social protection. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups through empowerment-focused policies, social protection programmes, and the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence.
Recognising the media as a key partner in national development, the Minister highlighted the crucial role of women journalists in amplifying the voices of marginalised communities.

She called for responsible and gender-sensitive reporting to support social inclusion and national progress.
The Female Senior Editors welcomed the engagement and pledged continued collaboration with the Ministry to promote gender equality, child protection, and social inclusion.
Heads of Directorates, Departments, and Units also briefed the editors on their respective mandates and achievements.
The Minister concluded by reaffirming the Ministry’s openness to dialogue and partnership, stressing that collective effort is essential to building an inclusive and equitable society.
