The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has reaffirmed government’s commitment to promoting homegrown technological innovation, describing local Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives as critical to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

The Minister made these remarks when officials from Dodo Technologies Limited, a Ghanaian AI and communication technology firm, paid a courtesy call to brief him on preparations for the upcoming Dodo Summit 2025, scheduled for December 10, 2025, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Auditorium.

Commending the company for its ingenuity, Hon. George lauded Dodo Technologies for developing indigenous solutions to address communication challenges across sectors. He emphasized that empowering local innovators aligns with government’s vision of building a self-reliant and inclusive digital economy anchored on data sovereignty, innovation, and digital governance.

“Our goal is to ensure that Ghanaian innovators are at the forefront of digital transformation—not just as consumers of technology, but as creators,” Hon. George stated. “AI solutions like those being developed by Dodo Technologies show that Ghana has the talent and capacity to lead in this space.”
The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dodo Technologies, Mr. Kane Mani, briefed the Minister on the company’s groundbreaking AI platform designed to “end fragmented communication” by unifying internal collaboration, customer engagement, and public interaction within a single intelligent system.

Mr. Mani noted that the technology was entirely developed in Ghana, underscoring the country’s growing capability in creating innovative, world-class digital products.
He further revealed that the Dodo Summit 2025, themed “The End of Fragmented Communication,” will convene policymakers, private sector leaders, innovators, and technology enthusiasts to deliberate on AI policy, digital governance, and the future of communication in Africa.
The summit is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration toward shaping a robust ecosystem for AI innovation and digital transformation across the continent.
