The Afro-Gastro Festival has once again highlighted the powerful role of food in shaping cultural identity and economic opportunity, with Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, urging increased investment in Africa’s food culture and culinary tourism.

Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasized that food goes beyond sustenance; it is a vital driver of unity, innovation, and development. She encouraged the private sector, hospitality industry, and creative entrepreneurs to support food-based initiatives and innovation hubs across the continent.

Joined by Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah and senior officials from the Ministry, the Minister toured the festival grounds, meeting with chefs, exhibitors, and diplomats to engage in conversations about the future of African gastronomy.

This year’s festival welcomed participation from over 14 embassies, numerous corporate sponsors, and celebrated artists including Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Bessa Simons, Sherifa Gunu, and Byno Ayoni, all contributing to a vibrant showcase of African culture, cuisine, and creativity.
With significant interest from both local and international communities, the Minister revealed that plans are already underway to expand the event next year.
