

The President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has welcomed a high-level delegation from Huawei Ghana at the Jubilee House, led by the company’s Country Director. The courtesy call was facilitated by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP).


The visit underscored Huawei’s longstanding commitment to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda. The delegation reaffirmed the company’s readiness to deepen its partnership with government across key areas, including rural connectivity, cloud computing, digital skills development, and the deployment of critical ICT infrastructure.


Discussions also explored collaborative opportunities to enhance digital sovereignty, expand rural telephony, and support the implementation of national development priorities through technology.

President Mahama commended Huawei for its consistent support of Ghana’s digital journey, emphasizing his administration’s vision to leverage technology for inclusive growth, job creation, enhanced public service delivery, and strengthened national security.
Hon. Sam George highlighted the importance of harmonizing private sector innovation with public policy to fast-track Ghana’s digital future. He praised Huawei’s role in driving infrastructure development and innovation, noting that the company remains a key strategic partner in Ghana’s digital acceleration efforts.

In response, the Huawei Country Director expressed appreciation to the President and the Minister for their continued support. He reiterated Huawei’s vision to help position Ghana as a digital hub in Africa, with a focus on AI, cloud computing, connectivity solutions, and capacity-building programs for the youth.
The courtesy call reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships that drive digital transformation and technological leadership across the continent.
