Officials of MTN Ghana on the night of Sunday, 31st March, 2024 thrilled customers and Ghanaian populace with their most sought after event dubbed “MTN Stands In Worship”.
This year’s (2024) edition coincided with the Easter celebration and was held in Kumasi at the Golden Bean Hotel, under the theme “Victory In The Blood: Celebrating Our Victory as a Nation”.
Artists who were billed for the occasion including Brother Sammy, ASP Kofi Sarpong, Obaapa Christie, Kwaku Gyasi, etc tinted the occasion with melodious and fantastic gospel performance to the excitement of a little over 500 participants who turned up at the event.
The occasion offered attendees the opportunity to interact with featured artists, creating a unique connection between the performers and their audience.
It extended beyond the venue as it was live-streamed on MTN and broadcasted on GH ONE TV, giving room for a broader audience to join.
It is on record that “MTN Stands in Worship” has grown to become one of the most recognized events in Ghana and has in the past years featured renowned artists such as Donnie McClurkin, William McDowell, Sinach, Micah Stanley, Nathaniel Bassey, Patrick Duncan, Joe Mettle, Elder Mireku etc.
Sharing his excitement after performance, ASP Kofi Sarpong underscored this year’s as “mind-blowing”, considering the number participants that attended.
He explained that despite the numerous events held in Kumasi and beyond as part of the Easter celebration, a great number still attended the MTN Stands in Worship.
Per his assertion, the MTN-born initiative impacts positively the lives of people, explaining that as people join hands in worship burdens are lifted.
Erasmus Essandoh, an attendee also said in an interview, granted on the sidelines that “MTN Stands in Worship is one of the best events for the people of Ghana. As we worship, it off-loads burdens, takes away stress, opens up a lot of avenues for people both in the physical and the spiritual realm”.
